KZUM presents Stransky Park Concert Series 2017

This week we bring you High Up w/ The Hottman Sisters

High Up singer Christine Fink moved to Omaha to be closer to her sister, notable singer songwriter Orenda Fink (Azure Ray).
One night Orenda insisted that Christine should try and do what makes her happiest- perform for people. They decided to start High up, a collaboration mixing elements of punk and soul that showcased Christine’s powerful vocals and Orenda’s seasoned songwriting.

The Hottman Sisters are two sisters in a three-piece band from Omaha, Nebraska, known for their natural harmonies that envelope the room. One sister plays electric guitar and the other plays synth, and they are backed by drums. The sisters’ blended voices and intricate melodies create an atmospheric sound that is both hopeful and haunting.

KZUM is entering its fourth year operating the concert series and this summer will mark the 14th consecutive year of live music at Stransky Park. The series will continue to be FREE and family friendly.

Concerts will begin at 7 p.m. every Thursday — weather permitting — from May 25 through August 3 at Stransky Park, 17th Street & Harrison Avenue (3 blocks south of South Street).

Performers are supported in part by tips from the audience. Blankets and/or lawn chairs are encouraged. This year, food trucks and children’s activities will be present during the weekly concerts.

*In the case of severe or extreme weather, cancellation info will be announced on KZUM 89.3 FM by 5 p.m. each Thursday
