Nebraska Exposed Showcases Local Bands at SXSW

On Wednesday, March 15, nine Nebraska performers played between noon and 8 p.m. at Cheers Shot Bar on Sixth Street, in Austin, TX — at the heart of one of the nation’s biggest music festivals, the SXSW Conference. KZUM is proud to sponsor this year’s showcase which aims to expose some of the great talent in Nebraska’s music-rich scene to audiences from around the world.
The day began at noon on the rooftop of Cheers Shot Bar on 6th street, the main drag of the SXSW festival. The Bottle Tops kicked off the showcase at noon, followed by the likes of Mesonjixx, AZP, Hakim, See Through Dresses, SAS, Freakabout, Laughing Falcon, and closed with Universe Contest. Both See Through Dresses and Laughing Falcon performed at other showcases at SXSW day of, as will Universe contest, AZP, Mesonjixx and Hakim on Thursday, March 16.
KZUM Presents: Nebraska Exposed was sponsored by the Lincoln Partnership of Economic Development, Duffy’s Tavern, Zoo Bar, 1867 Bar, Jake’s Cigars, Dietze Music, Yia Yia’s, N-Street Drive In, Shirts 101, C Balta Design. The event was organized by Nebraska Exposed founder and KZUM board member Kyle Gibson, Development Director Shannon Claire, and Hear Nebraska Event Director and Jazz in June Art Director, Spencer Munson.
