LOVAM Jazz Festival
The annual LOVAM Jazz Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st at Turner Park. The festival will feature the legendary and contemporary jazz hornist Rick Braun and 16-time Billboard #1 Artist and Producer Adam Hawley, local jazz funk band Wood Hoops and the Central High School jazz band. The festival is FREE and open to the public. You don't want to miss this year’s festival that promises to be the highlight of the summer for all jazz enthusiasts. Shanan Ballam is Poet Laureate of Logan City, Utah and teaches English and Composition at Utah State University, teaching poetry writing and composition. In 2022, she survived a massive stroke that left her without speech and other limitations. Her collection of poems about her experience with the stroke, titled “first poems after the stroke” was published in May 2024 by Finishing Line Press. Shanan will read from her book.
