KZUM has been proud to bring Lincoln diverse and progressive events like the long-running Stransky Park Concert Series and our summer workshop series, Garden Talks & Nature Walks, featuring hosts Bob & Bertine from our on-air program, “How’s it Growin’?”, our annual KZUM Birthday Bash, Jerry Garcia Bash, and Blues Blowout events which support numerous Nebraska musicians.

We cherish our supportive partnerships with businesses and organizations to produce these events each year. As well as being a sponsor ourselves promoting and collaborating with festivals like Jazz in June,

The Zoo Bar’s Zoo Fest, Star City Pride, LES’s Sustainable Living, Lincoln Calling and so many more.

These events are crucial to our efforts in showcasing what Lincoln has to offer for those that live here, and those “just passing through”.

Discover one-of-a-kind event sponsorships, as well as how you can sustain your community radio station, KZUM, throughout the year by becoming an underwriter or through major giving. We look forward to seeing what we can do together!

KZUM SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Celebrating 16 years in 2019, and produced by the station since 2013, KZUM’s Summer Concert Series at Stransky Park showcases the diverse variety of music you’ve grown accustomed to hearing on-air. Each season we bring our guests live music, interactive art projects for all ages, and food from some of Lincoln’s most beloved food trucks!

This year we look to bring on and highlight one Lincoln nonprofit organization each week for attendees to get to know about the resources they have to offer. Community support makes these concerts possible. As a sponsor, you preserve the history and operations of a well-respected and established event, while highlighting your business and services to the 500+ concertgoers each and every week.

KZUM’s Summer Concert Series is held at Stransky Park every Thursday at 7pm, from May 23rd until August 8th. Located off of 17th and Harrison Ave, in the Irvingdale Neighborhood.

BLUES BLOWOUT

Awarded a Keeping the Blues Alive Award in 2016 by The International Blues Foundation, the station continues to be Nebraska’s home for the blues by partnering with the legendary Zoo Bar, to produce an annual blues concert. This is held in conjunction with the station’s annual on-air event, Blues Blowout Weekend, where for 84 consecutive hours during Labor Day weekend KZUM airs nothing but the blues. The concert aims to support the genre’s many styles. Delta to Hokum, Chicago to Memphis, our annual Blues Blowout concert features the many tastes our community loves to devour.

HOW’S IT GROWIN? GARDEN TALKS & NATURE WALKS

KZUM’s Garden Talks & Nature Walks, curated by on-air programmers Bob & Bertine of “How’s it Growin’”, bring listeners to community farms and parks, local eateries, and markets through interactive workshops during the months of April thru October. Partnering with organizations like Community CROPS, Buy Fresh Buy Local, Wilderness Park and markets such as Open Harvest Co-op and College View Farmers Market, these monthly talks and walks encourage our neighbors to seek locally sourced products and support small businesses and farms in the great state of Nebraska.

JERRY GARCIA BIRTHDAY BASH

Since 2007, longtime Lincoln outfit Jerry Pranksters have joined us in honoring the life and music of Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead! Held at one of Lincoln’s downtown venues, the event continues to bring the free spirited and peace loving fans to come together and celebrate the late artist on or near his birthday in the summer. KZUM proudly provides a variety of programming that highlights The Grateful Dead along with the syndicated program “Grateful Dead Hour”.

MEDIA SPONSORSHIP

Have an upcoming event and looking for promo? We want to be your media sponsor!

We partner with several businesses and organizations every year to bring our listeners up to date event information on what’s happening in Lincoln. Jazz in June, Star City Pride, Zoo Fest, LES Sustainable Festival, Lincoln Calling, College View Farmers Market, are just some of the great community events we promote via on-air announcements and online at kzum.org. Our listeners want to know about the next music festival, art exhibit, workshop, bike tour and/or farmers market. Let us know what you have coming up! We recommend reaching out a minimum of 6-8 weeks prior to your event date.
