The KZUM Programmer Academy returns for a Spring Session in 2026. KZUM is in need of some volunteer programmers to be ready to take to the air on the occasion that a time slot opens up. We are particularly interested in BLUES, JAZZ, and WORLD MUSIC programmers above all. This Spring’s Programmer Academy will take place April 18, 1-5 p.m. at The Foundry in Downtown Lincoln.
Here is what to consider when submitting your program idea:
- Does the idea address current community needs?
- Does the idea align with any current KZUM programming priorities and/or look like a good fit for the program schedule?
- Does the idea propose content that is not well-represented in other media in Lincoln?
- Is the idea well thought out?
- Does the applicant appear comfortable with the commitment of being a programmer and with fundraising?
