Zipline Brewing Co., is hosting an Earth day celebration on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. in its brewery taproom, 2100 Magnum Circle.

The Algorhythms will kick off the event with their live music and Pepe’s Bistro will provide food, including vegetarian options. A number of panelists will be present to share ways for people to get involved with the community in supporting planet earth. Zipline will be offering a free Sustainability Tour at 4 p.m. so guests can get to know how it produces delicious beer while maintaining sustainability throughout the brewing process. Tour spaces are limited but tickets can be purchased via Zipline’s Eventrbite page.

This event will be Zipline’s first individual Earth Day Celebration. The idea was created when the Lincoln Earth Day committee contacted the brewery to participate as a sponsor on Lincoln Earth Day, April 28. Since their schedule prevented them from participating on that day, they decided to host their own celebration.

“We’re having our own pre-party,” said Brand Ambassador Diana Gutsche. “We want to support the Earth Day community in our own way.”

Zipline will be donating 20 percent of their proceeds earned from selling beer on Saturday will be donated to the Lincoln Earth Day group.

Lincoln Earth Day will host their event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 28 at the Jane Synder Trails Center at Union Plaza. The event has approximately 2,500 attendees per year. A pre-event bike ride and yoga will take place at 9 with the Great Plains Trails Network. Pre-registration is required.

Zipline’s next big event is the fourth annual Brave New Barrel fest at The Bay on May 19. This big celebration of barrel-aged and sour beers will include over 40 breweries. All of the proceeds will be donated to charities such as They Bay and Skate for Change, an organization run through The Bay. Early Bird tickets cost $40 while general admission will be available for purchase of $50 starting April 12. For more information, go to http://www.bravenewbarrelfest.com/.
