Pinwheels on the Mall – April 4th, 2025 Join us for National Child Abuse Prevention Month on April 4th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Wear blue and meet us outside the Lincoln Community Foundation (215 Centennial Mall S.) to help create a display of pinwheels. We’ll then walk to the steps of the Capitol for a community photo. Jamie Wendt will read from her new poetry collection Laughing in Yiddish which was a finalist for the Philip Levine Prize in Poetry. Her first book, Fruit of the Earth, won the 2019 National Federation of Press Women Book Award in Poetry. Jamie draws on history, stories passed down through families, the work of Jewish artists (including visual artists) and her own experience in her new poetry collection.
