KZUM intern Cameron O'Brien hit the streets of downtown Lincoln to visit with artists featured at First Friday exhibits and take in Stella Collective's 10th anniversary celebration.

Normally downtown Lincoln would be pretty tame on a weeknight, but Tuesday and Wednesday were exceptions. Playing their usual two-night show, Cherub tore up the Bourbon on both nights, giving Lincolnites a reason to go out and stay out.

Mary Lawson and Myles Jasnowski, of Meonjixx, kicked off KZUM's 2016-17 Soup & Songs concert series on Sunday at The Ferguson House.

On Thursday, the Nebraska History Museum hosted “Atomic Age After Hours,” a special event that featured drinks and appetizers, live jazz music from the band Cambia and a costume contest, all in an “atomic era” atmosphere.

The Zoo Bar welcomed Sarah Potenza back to the stage on Monday night, which also marked Zoo owner Pete Watters’ birthday celebration

As part of Saturday’s festivities, the shop offered discounts on merchandise, live music from the Kyoko Taiko Drummers, Nate Clark, and featured dancing by the Bellajhara Belly Dancers and the Lion Dancers. Also featured were Henna artists, screen printing, a chocolate making demo.

Performing on Thursday night at the Zoo Bar, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas entertained a crowd that was entranced both by what they were hearing and what they were seeing.

In Tugboat Gallery’s “Conduit” showcase, curators Micahel Villarreal and Rosana Ybarra bring together three artists that use three different mediums. This exhibition is an exploration of the “dynamic translation between states.”
