The annual Community Crops Feast on the Farm will be held Saturday, August 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Prairie Pines. This will be the sixth year celebrating the best of local foods, prepared by the best of local chefs.
Interim Director at Community Crops, Barb Brockley said, “We combine local food with local chefs and breweries for the best farm to table experience in the city.”
For only $75 event-goers will be able to experience a wide variety of different foods and alcohol. These seasonal and 100 percent local foods come from these featured vendors; Dish, Piedmont Bistro, Hub Café, Single Barrel, Goldenrod, Gelato to Go, Tacos Azteca, Dutch Girl Creamery, Prairie Plate, and Kitchen Table.
“Since this is a 21+ event, there will also be featured local cider from Saro and beer from Cosmic Eye to enjoy the evening,” Brockley said.
Not only will there be local food and alcohol, but there will also be live performances by Skylark, farm tours and a silent auction. All the money raised from this event will go to their programming: Farmer Training, Veggie Van and Youth Education.
“I’m most excited to get the chance to catch up with supporters while showcasing our local farmers, because this event supports growing food in Lincoln, creating a more sustainable food system and a healthier community,” Brockley said.
