Jamie Wendt will read from her new poetry collection Laughing in Yiddish which was a finalist for the Philip Levine Prize in Poetry. Her first book, Fruit of the Earth, won the 2019 National Federation of Press Women Book Award in Poetry. Jamie draws on history, stories passed down through families, the work of Jewish artists (including visual artists) and her own experience in her new poetry collection. Jamie earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska Omaha. She lives in Chicago with her husband and two kids.
