Have you ever wondered about building your own apothecary or been interested in the effects herbs have? This Saturday at Pioneers Park Nature Center is your opportunity to join local herbalist Alex Svoboda from 1 to 3 p.m. and learn about herbal tincture (the liquid concentrate of an herb). It’s $25 per person and registration details can be found at Lincoln Parks and Recreation or on the event page will direct you there.

In this class, participants will be learning specifically about hops, its health benefits (beer lovers rejoice) and applications. Everything one would want to know about the chemistry, botany and earth-based applications to healing will be covered and answered.

If you’re unable to make it to the event, have no fear! You can find Svoboda at Arise Botanicals and have her create you a unique tincture or tea tailored to your needs. Coming up on February 19, Svoboda will be having another workshop discussing “Herbal Allies for Depression.” This workshop will be held at Empowered Healing from 6 to 8 p.m.
