Tree with Roots
Wednesdays, 8-10 a.m.
Host: Ryan Evans
Americana
Since 2009, “Tree with Roots” has sought to offer a mix of Americana and roots music that highlights new releases from today’s emerging artists, as well as the music from throughout the 20th century that continues to influence artists today.
Tune in 8 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday for a variety of folk, country, bluegrass, roots rock, soul and more. Whatever we can get by with calling “Americana.”
In addition to closely following new releases from around the country, the program seeks to expose listeners to as much of the vibrant roots music scene in Nebraska as possible, through spinning albums by artists from across the state, to hosting them live in the studio.
Host and KZUM Program Director Ryan Evans began his time on the air with the station in 2004, co-hosting a wide-ranging program with his friend Myles Cecere, “Visual Purple.” In 2009, Evans started “Tree with Roots” on Monday nights before moving to Wednesday mornings shortly thereafter.
