The monthly KZUM radio “Garden Talk & Nature Walk” series with Bob Henrickson and Bertine Loop leads a walk through the arboretum as they talk about its big plant residents. It will be followed by a tree planting demonstration and short talk about tree selection at the windmill to celebrate the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum 40th Anniversary. Children’s activites are about the biggest plants out there – trees! Coffee and smoothies will be available for purchase. Bring your lunch and enjoy free watermelon courtesy of Fresh Thyme and listen to local musicians the Lucky Possums from noon – 2 PM in Virginia’s Garden. Trails and Nature Ninja course are open from 8 AM – 5 PM. Children must be accompanied by adults. Sorry no pets!
